Arizona Strip Project, Northwestern Arizona (Uranium)
A flat and nearly featureless desert terrain dissected by deep canyons in northwestern Arizona is home to a uranium district that historically represents some of the highest grade and most profitable hard rock uranium production in the U.S.
In a 1987 study of the undiscovered uranium resource endowment of the Arizona Strip, the U.S. Geological Survey concluded that the district has the potential to become the second most important uranium producing region in the United States.
