Quaterra Appoints VP Exploration

Quaterra Resource Group Inc. announced today the appointment of Eugene Spiering as Vice President of Exploration.Mr. Spiering has over 28 years of experience in the mining exploration industry. He most recently held the position of vice president, exploration at Rio Narcea Mines Ltd., where he managed a team that discovered two gold deposits and completed the final definition of one nickel deposit in Spain. All three of the these deposits are currently in production. Prior to his tenure at Rio Narcea, Mr. Spiering held the position of senior geologist with Energy Fuels Nuclear, Inc. where his responsibilities included drilling supervision, geologic mapping, and ore reserve calculations related to uranium exploration in northern Arizona and gold exploration in western US and Venezuela . He received his Bachelor of Science-Geology degree from the University of Utah .

The company also reported the grant of an incentive stock option to Mr. Spiering providing for the purchase of 200,000 shares at an exercise price of $0.40 and for a period of five years.

His discovery track record and expertise in uranium, precious metals and nickel exploration will have an immediate impact on our ongoing exploration programs and in the identification and evaluation of new opportunities.”
The company also reported that a drilling contract for 5,000 metres has been executed for initial diamond drill testing of up to ten uranium breccia pipe targets in Arizona. The program is scheduled to commence within two weeks.
