Quaterra Enters Into Memorandum Of Understanding With Revett Minerals Inc.
VANCOUVER, B.C. — Quaterra Resources Inc. (the “Company”) today announced that following exploratory discussions extending over the past twelve months, that the Company and Revett Minerals Inc. (“Revett”) (“TSX: RVM/OTCBB: RVMIF) have determined that a strategic alliance could enhance each company’s business objectives. The Company and Revett have therefore entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU’).
Through this MOU, the Company could have the opportunity to gain a foothold into Revett’s production and development stage silver/copper holdings in the USA. Revett’s objective is to gain exposure to the Company’s pipeline of precious and base metal exploration projects in North America, including the MacArthur/Yerington copper project in Nevada, the Nieves silver property in Zacatecas, Mexico and, the Americas-Mirasol gold/silver property in Durango, Mexico.
Under the strategic alliance, each party stands to benefit from the core competencies of the other company. Revett’s operating experience will be valuable in taking projects from final feasibility stage into production and Quaterra’s management has a proven track record of advancing projects from grass roots exploration to development stage. This strategic alliance may result in participation on a project by project basis, or at a corporate level via cross shareholdings, or some other transaction which may prove to be of mutual benefit.
